A gentle, affectionate, and good-natured breed that makes a wonderful companion. They are active and enthusiastic hunters, intelligent, and usually very trainable and easy to care for. They are best suited to suburban or country living.

A hearty hunting dog, the Brittany was probably developed in Brittany, France, in the 19th century.

  

Medium Breed. Weight: 30-40 lbs. Height at the shoulders: 17-21 in.


Brittany Spaniels need vigorous daily exercise.

A straight or wavy coat requires regular brushing. Light shedders.

Good with children if raised with them from puppyhood.

Generally gets along well with other pets.

 
Hip dysplasia, skin problems, and seizures.
