Loyal and devoted, the Bullmastiff is a reliable family companion and guardian. Although this powerful breed tends to be more aggressive than the Mastiff, they are good-natured and docile unless provoked. They are fearless and protective but also very affectionate. They are suited to suburban or apartment living if sufficiently exercised.
