Loyal, trustworthy, and intelligent, the majestic Great Dane makes a wonderful family pet. They are friendly and gentle, but due to their size they are best suited to country or suburban living.

Developed in Germany, where it is known as Deutsche Dogge; originally used as a patrol dog.
