Extroverted and loving, Pomeranians love extra attention. The most independent of the toys, they can be stubborn and willful, but make good obedience dogs if properly trained. They are usually very happy and make excellent watch dogs. They are well suited to apartment living.

Originally descended from the Spitz breeds of the far north. They were brought to Europe and became immensely popular: Mozart, Emile Zola, and Marie Antoinette all owned Pomeranians.

Very Small Breed. Weight: 5-10 lbs.
Height at the shoulders: 8-12 in.

Pomeranians need very little exercise. They provide their own exercise routine!

The long, course coat requires daily grooming. Constant shedders.

Best with older, considerate children.

Pomeranians generally get along well with other pets.

Patellar luxation, early tooth loss, eye infections, heart and skin problems.
