Saturday, mom, dad and I went to Family of Pets in Novi. While we were looking at the puppies, one of the salespeople Pat came up to us and asked if we had any questions, we told her we were looking for a Yorkie. She said they were hyper dogs and she suggested a Bichon Frise instead.
She showed us a Bichon puppy and took us into an area so we could hold and play with her. She gave mom kisses on her chin and she was very playful. She was so cute we decided we would get a Bichon instead of a Yorkie when I had saved enough money. Dad said we could call her "Missy" if we got a female. The next Thursday I had a half day of school. Mom told dad to get off work early so we could go out to dinner and Emagine Theater for a movie as an early birthday celebration for me. We left shortly after dinner at Guernsey's to go to the movie. Mom said the movie started at 5:50 and since it was only 4:45, I asked my parents if we could go to Family of Pets and look at the puppies again (just like they knew I would). They said okay. After we walked in, I went straight to the cage where the Bichon puppy was. I was disappointed when I saw it said SOLD on the cage. I knew she wouldn't still be there when I saved enough money to buy a dog, but I was still very disappointed to see she was already sold. Then my sister Colleen pulled me away from the cage to look at the other puppies. When I went back over to the Bichon puppy's cage, I noticed someone had written, "Hi, my name is Missy". I was confused because we had decided on the name Missy for our dog. I looked around to see who wrote it. I only saw my dad so I hit him on the arm and told him not to joke about something like that. He told me he didn't write it and I didn't see any sign of the marker. I looked at mom and she said, "SURPRISE, Missy is ours!" I got really excited and happy. I couldn't believe it! This is the BEST birthday present I've ever gotten!!! Thanks Family of Pets, I LOVE My Puppy!...Jeff
